Veritas will be able to carry out project certification of offshore projects against global standards set by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

The accreditation means Bureau Veritas' wind certification team can carry out its work at projects where the internationally recognised accreditation is needed.

The Bureau said it is looking to be able to provide a full range of certification services to the offshore sector.

Under the certification, Veritas will evaluate site characteristics of an offshore project, verification of all components to assess quality and ensuring local regulatory requirements at a project site are considered.

The German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) has already recognised Veritas to provide offshore project certification.
