EIB approves EUR500m Tennet loan

GERMANY: The European Investment Bank (EIB) has announced the formal approval of a EUR 500 million loan to Tennet to build a number of connections to offshore wind farms.

In June EIB agreed to loan for Tennet to build and maintain the offshore grid connections Helwin1 with (576MW) capacity, Sylwin1 with (864MW) and Dolwin1 with (800MW) capacity to the onshore network.

The conections total 2.24GW.

The offshore projects Nordsee Ost and Meerwind Sued/Ost are allocated to Helwin1, Dantysk is the first allocation to Sylwin1 ( Tennet does not, as yet, mention others). Meg 1, Borkum West 2 (phase 1) and Borkum Riffgrund 1 will be connected to Dolwin 1.
