CGNPC confirms case for 200MW Dalian project

Construction due to start next year

China Guangdong Nuclear Power Corp (CGNPC) has completed a preliminary feasibility report for a 200MW offshore wind farm near Dalian Island, Pingtan County, in southeast China’s Fujian province.

Construction of the project will start next year, with a total investment of CHY 4.5bn ($714m), said Tan Jiansheng, deputy general manager of CGNPC. A framework agreement with the local government was signed in December 2012.

Pingtan, with a sea area of 6,064km2, has rich offshore wind power resources. Four offshore wind farms are planned for the county, totalling 1.5GW, in the Dalian, Caoyu, Changjiang’ao and Dongxiang sea areas.
