Turbine 2 has been repaired. The 6MW GE Haliade turbine had been offline since about two weeks before the project was commissioned in the first half of December.

"Testing confirmed that the repair was successful, and the turbine is now running normally," said Deepwater Wind CEO Jeff Grybowski in a statement.

"The Block Island wind farm continues to perform well," he said.

GE had to replace 26 magnets in the turbine because a 15cm drill bit had been mistakenly left in the air gap of the generator during manufacturing in France.

GE had to ship replacement magnets from France, where the nacelles are made.

The repair is covered by warranty.
