Detailed design work began in October 2014, certification is expected shortly and production will begin at Ambau’s works in Bremen and Cuxhaven in June 2015. Rainer Wirth, technical director, said it was a "technically challenging task for AMBAU".

Planned for a site in the North Sea, around 40km off the island of Juist, the 332MW Nordsee One is 85% owned by Northland Power and 15% by RWE Innogy. Financial close on the €1.2bn project was achieved in February, when €840bn of funding was arranged. It should be online by 2017.
