The company has already provided accommodation for a number of offshore projects, but has created the subsidiary due to what it sees as increasing demand for the service.

ELA Offshore's accommodation containers can be used on ships, rigs, transformer platforms and all kind of seagoing vessels, pontoons and barges. They have a special coating, adapted to the weather conditions at sea.

As offshore wind projects move further from the coast, there is a need for longer-term accommodation for those working on the developments as the cost of ferrying workers back and forth would be too great.
