There are two contracts available. One is for the design work and installation of the turbine foundations, the installation of the turbines themselves and the inter-array cable work.

The second package involves the design and installation of the offshore transformer platform, export cables, onshore transformer and the grid connection.

The nine companies invited to bid are ABB, Alstom Grid, Boskalis, Ferrovial-Ballast Nedam, GeoSea, Seaway Heavy Lifting, Siemens, Murabeni-Technip and Van Oord.

Repsol and EDPR said that the contracts will be "collaborative in nature".

The consortium said the turbine supplier will be selected later in 2014, while regional supply chain events will be held throughout 2015 to select smaller suppliers. The project is due to come online in 2019.
