TÜV Rheinland will perform statutory commissioning inspections on the lifts at the 41 square-kilometre wind farm in the German exclusive economic zone, 110 kilometres from Cuxhaven.

Inspections can only be conducted by officially recognised and accredited inspection bodies and TÜV Rheinland has been authorised by Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle (Dakks), Germany’s national accreditation body.

Global Tech 1 is being developed by Windreich.

Last month, WeserWind completed the assembly of the last two tripod foundations for the project at its site in Bremerhaven.

The last foundations, ultimately destined for the 400MW wind farm in the German North Sea, were due to be delivered by barge to the ABC-peninsula quay near Bremerhaven. They are due to be shipped to the project site.
