EEW SPC wins EnBW Baltic 2 contract

Production of monopiles and TPs to begin next month

EEW Special Pipe Construction (SPC) has won a contract to supply pin piles, monopiles and transition pieces, to the EnBW Baltic 2 offshore wind farm. The Rostock-based company will produce 123 pin piles and 39 monopiles and transition pieces (TPs), as part of a joint venture with Danish firm, Bladt Industries.   

Production of the 20,000t of pin piles is underway and due for completion in June. Manufacture of the monopiles and TPs will begin next month. Bladt will produce 41 jacket foundations for Baltic 2, at its new facility at Lindø Industrial Park.

EEW SPC is located close to the Baltic 2 site. It also supplied foundations to the 48MW EnBW Baltic 1 development. A consortium that includes Hochteif and GeoSea is building the 288MW Baltic 2, for the German utility, Energie Baden-Württemberg (EnBW).
